Capital Financière agricole backs investment projects from $500,000 up to $10 million. Special attention is given to projects involving the production of food products and to initiatives targeting distribution networks for local specialty products and locally processed products.
The investment per enterprise ranges from $200,000 to $2,000,000, but the initial round of financing does not exceed $1,000,000.
Financial participation is in the form of capital stock or debentures (unsecured loan, convertible to capital stock or not), and the desired return is 10 to 15% annually.
Being a development fund, Capital Financière agricole does not buy back, allowing for exceptions, the interest of existing partners, nor does it take part in business recovery.
Future partners (excluding individuals) must be incorporated under one of the following legal forms: joint stock company, limited partnership, general partnership or cooperative.
